Richlen Awarded Hitachi’s Executive Briefing Center Renovation
Award of Contract June 14, 2011. Richlen's agreement: Pre-Construction, MEP selection and Construction. The overall purpose of this project is to relocate an existing Café to a new location within the same campus. Scope includes; A Full Restaurant Style Cafeteria, Sports Court, & Patio. Further contractual agreements: Lot Line Adjustment, A 4,144 sq-ft.,Training & Conference Room.
Work is being performed in One (1) continuous phase, during normal business hours Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm. Due to several projects under construction at once, schedules for exterior and interior must resolve non-interruption to the 1000 + Hitachi employees at this campus.
Richlen is working in conjunction within project management, design and Hitachi’s vendor/contractor professionals comprised of people within, and external. Vendors such as Furniture, Security, Audio/ Video, and Data Cabling are direct Hitachi vendors. Coordination between these groups for installations is Richlen’s responsibility, and that of Hitachi’s Project Manager. Other significant tasks essential to campus operations include; Site utilities, excavation/grading/offhaul, site concrete, demolition of sidewalks, installation of new, landscaping/irrigation, fencing, rough carpentry, painting, cafeteria appliances /office equipment.
Richlen provided Self-Performed Work in carpentry-related trades. In addition to quality assurance, and cost advantages, performing these trades in-house provided flexibility, and control on fast-track projects within projects. All work performed by skilled union labor. Commission is scheduled late December 2011.
