Richlen Construction was founded in 1978 by Rich Zavala to provide General Contracting services at the Alcoa Building in Golden Gateway Center, now One Maritime in San Francisco. “In those days the building manager conducted business on a handshake and made arrangements to pay us for our services
on the spot,” Rich recalls.
The culture Rich Zavala instilled in his team, to create long-lasting relationships, and provide clients with value, remains at Richlen's core. Richlen is a firm where staff can leverage great benefits for others, and have fun doing so.
Rich develops an entrepreneurial spirit in his employees. Over the years several new San Francisco area contractors have been formed by Richlen employees who developed their skills and knowledge of construction at Richlen.
Today Richlen performs over 200-projects each year. The results are evident with the celebration of Richlen's thirty- one years (31) in business.
“We have been successful because we put the customer first and maintain the flexibility to give clients the service they want. Our growth is from repeat business and word of mouth, we've been doing it for a long time together," said Trip Collaro, Vice President of Operations. "It’s easy for us to work in a collaborative way with Architects, Subcontractors, and Owners to focus on what is necessary to build their project and realize their dreams.
